This will allow us to continue to play creatures and fight shit while our opponents (hopefully) remain behind on boardstate. Around this time we are going to want to pump the brakes on creatures and resolve a draw engine. Killing dorks is also a good strategy but I usually find that if I don't buff Ayula early it can be hard to kill tougher creatures like hatebears once they start coming down on turns 2-3. With your first bearboi you are usually going to want to bring Ayula up to a 4/4. Look to cast Ayula as early as possible, turn one or two and then begin resolving some bears. Start the game by looking to keep opening hands with around two lands and an early accelerant such as ], or ]. Bearstorm does poorly in creature heavy metas or metas that favor heavy boardwipes/control since, like most green creature decks, it struggles to recover from repeatedly losing its resources. It has the ability to beat down threatening players in the early game and squash mana dorks or hatebears (our bears are better) that could stall our attacks. Bearstorm does well in tuned metas where combo and ramp heavy decks dominate tables.

If your playgroup is a little too good for regular bear tribal, or if you just want to crush people with vanilla 2/2's while repeating the same six overused bear puns, this deck is for you. In the late game we can combo out using a cheap knock-off version of the Selvala Brostorm combo. It is designed to take games by being aggressive in the early game with Ayula and some bears and then resolve a draw engine to help us transition into the mid game. This deck aims to be the strongest/most competitive Ayula deck on the internet. I realize that Ayula isn't terribly powerful as a strategy and that this deck would be better if I just put ] at the helm, but counterpoint, I really like bears. My goal is to make this deck the strongest ] deck on the internet. It also contains the links to all the alternative decklists (budget/budgetless and other variants) so if you are interested in those you should check it out as well.

You can find the whole deck and full primer here: it is pretty in depth, as this is a huge passion project for me.
